			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>One of the most common excuses I hear when talking about <a href="http://dietsformen.net">diets for men</a> is people saying “but exercise is boring.”  Well, I’ll admit this… SOME exercise is boring, but it’s really only as exciting as you make it. Sure jogging on a treadmill or riding a recumbent bike for an hour may not be real exciting, but here are 10 exercises that I’m sure you won’t find boring.  Heck, most of you probably don’t even think of it as exercise!</p>
<p>1. Play basketball.  When I was younger I used to play basketball almost every day down at the local YMCA.  I used to run for hours and sweat off all the junk food that I used to eat… no wonder I used to be thin!  Playing basketball is great cardio and involves a variety of exercises from running up the court, to jumping at the rim, to shuffling your feet.  </p>
<p>2. Go golfing. A lot of people think golf is an easy sport for fat guys.  Sure, swinging a thin stick at a little ball seems easy, but when you actually get out and play 18 holes on a real course you’ll realize swinging and putting isn’t the hard part… the walking is!  Getting in 18 holes is a great way to get in some exercise without even realizing.  You walk a lot further on a golf course than you probably would on a treadmill anyway.</p>
<p>3. Chase your kids.  Have kids?  They could use exercise too!  Go in the backyard and chase them around, play kickball, play soccer, play hide and go seek… anything that requires movement basically.  Don’t have a backyard?  Go to a park!  Don’t have kids?  Chase your dog!   The point here is to not sit on your butt all day and burn off a few calories.  </p>
<p>4. Go for a swim.  Have a pool?  Know someone who does?  Swimming is one of the best exercises for you, you burn tons of calories but don’t doesn’t put a lot of stress and strain on your joints.  Are you limited exercising because of back or neck pain?  Swimming is probably your answer… look in to it!</p>
<p>My point here is that exercise doesn’t have to be boring… you can do things that are fun and still burn calories and eventually lose weight.  You would be amazed how many pounds you can shed just by being active and doing things that you like.</p>

<p>One of the things people ask me a lot is about safe weight loss.  We all know everyone wants to lose weight fast but sometimes losing weight extra fast can be a risk to your personal health and really isn’t worth it in the long run.  So how can you lose weight quickly and safely?  Let’s take a look at some general rules of thumb.</p>
<p>First, find a diet that actually works for you.  Not every diet is right for everyone, it all depends on your gender, age, race, fitness level, metabolism, etc.  Some diets like <a href="http://dietsformen.net/medifast">Medifast</a> have a really good success rate with a lot of people, but you need to find the diet that is right for you.  </p>
<p>Second, avoid diet pills.  Remember a few years ago when Xenadrine was all the rage?  Yea I tried it too and I felt like I drank 20 cups of coffee and my heart wanted to pound through my chest.  A pitcher in the major leagues actually died from them, but at the time it was deemed safe enough to sell over the counter.  My point is, if there was a pill that actually made you lose weight don’t you think everyone would know about it and it would be the biggest selling pill in the history of pills?  Weight loss happens with diet and exercise, not a little pill.</p>
<p>Make sure you don’t lose weight too fast because you can do serious damage to the rest of your body.  Diseases like anorexia and bulimia are serious problems, because your body NEEDS food to function, but it needs the RIGHT food to keep you healthy and strong.  If you lose weight too fast you probably are starving your body from something that it needs and that is never good.  Proper weight loss usually runs on an average of 1 pound per week, and maybe a little more for larger folks.  Now remember that’s an average so you may lose 5 pounds one week and nothing for the next two… don’t worry it will all average out and it’s much easier to keep it off this way. </p>
<p>Remember exercise is key.  Did you know that when you exercise your body burns calories and fat even when you aren’t exercising?  When you exercise your body’s metabolism kicks in to gear and that lasts throughout the day, even when you aren’t running on a treadmill or lifting weights.  What this means is that when you are eating your food burns faster, and you have more leeway to eat the things that you like.  Exercise doesn’t have to be all boring either, go find something you like to do like run, play basketball or just run around with your kids.  </p>

<p>I was shocked to learn that <a rel="nofollow" href="http://dietsformen.net/ediets">EDiets.com</a> has over 860,000 members in their network right now, yet I had never checked it out.  Clearly with a group of customers that large they must be doing something right and the more I looked in to their program I can definitely see why so many people are having success with their program.  </p>
<p>The EDiets program puts together a diet plan specific to your needs based on your current weight, age, etc and lets you customize it to your liking.  They give you a range of calories that you need to stay within if you want to lose weight.  I know a lot of men (especially me!) have trouble limiting calories with all those junk food options, but the plan is really simple.</p>
<p>The program lets you add or subtract foods you like, don’t like or are allergic to… after all, if a diet calls for something specific like broccoli and you don’t like broccoli you won’t stick with it will you?  When you are more able to customize your meal list you are more able to stick with it because it’s something that you chose.  You may even find food items you never knew you could eat on a diet.</p>
<p>EDiets features an extensive support network to help keep their clients motivated and focused.  Personally I’m not a big fan of in person meetings which is one of the reasons why I never went to <a href="http://dietsformen.net/weight-watchers-for-men/">Weight Watchers for Men</a> meetings, but EDiets support network is online with things like interactive chat groups, message boards and a support staff that is available 24/7 to keep you targeted should you ever feel like giving up.  </p>
<p>One of the things we liked best about EDiets is the price, it’s really one of the least expensive <a href="http://dietsformen.net">diets for men</a> that we have listed.  You can join the program for around $35 for 3 months (price valid at time this was written) which only amounts to around 39 cents a day.  It’s certainly much cheaper than <a href="http://dietsformen.net/medifast-for-men-review/">Medifast for men</a>, (though you wont see the dramatically quick weight loss either) but EDiets will teach you HOW to eat and how to stick with it for the long term whereas diets like Medifast are more of a short term solution.</p>

So why don’t we?  Most of us have excuses about why we can’t lose weight or why dieting isn’t for us but nothing could be further from the truth.  Here are four common excuses why men have trouble dieting.</p>
<p><strong>Peer pressure &#8211; our friends will make fun of us!</strong></p>
<p>I know personally there have been a number of times where my belly just gets out of control and all my dress shirts fit a little tighter than they should.  I want to go on a diet, but I also don’t want to advertise it to my friends and co-workers for fear of getting ridiculed about it.  Why are diets socially acceptable for women but something that men don’t do?  I have no idea, but its one of those weird social rules that makes no sense and you should just ignore it.  You owe it to yourself and your family to keep yourself healthy and happy.</p>
<p><strong>We aren’t sure how to diet</strong></p>
<p>One of the things we hear most when we talk to men about dieting is that we don’t diet because we don’t know how to start. It’s really not as difficult as many people assume really.  We know what foods are bad for us, we know we need to exercise, and we know we need to burn more calories than we take in… that’s not hard is it?  Many of us assume that we have to work out like pro athletes to get in shape but that is simply not true.  If you want to work out like an NFL star go right ahead, but for the rest of us 30-60 minutes of exercise 4 days a week is more than enough.  Small steps make a big difference!</p>
<p><strong>Many diets are geared toward women</strong></p>
<p>Let’s face it, if you are in the video store and you see an exercise dvd with a woman in a pink spandex outfit with wrist and headbands then it probably isn’t geared toward you.
